As other(s) have posted, I do not believe that you can directly do what you
want to do.
However, if you have one or more large documents which you can process in a
"batch mode", you could use FrameScript to locate a unique text string in your
document and a) apply a character format to it OR b) apply the character
format and at the same time delete the stuff that made it a unique string [if
you can't otherwise locate it as a unique string].
